"(Bio)diversity instead of monoculture"

Member of the FiBL Foundation Council and farmer

"(Bio)diversity instead of monoculture – this is a guiding principle for me and drives me to promote scientifically sound approaches and to strengthen diversity in agriculture. At the same time, we should look out for one another more because only together can we overcome the challenges we face today."

Her roles

Colette is a trained secondary school teacher. Alongside her roles as President of Bildung Aargau, Member of the Grand Council and Vice-President of the Aargau Farmers' Association (BVA), she is also a farmer at heart.

After more than 20 years of teaching, she became co-director of the Swiss Association of Women Farmers and Rural Women (SBLV).

Her life story

She subsequently worked as a marketing manager, specialising in the digitalisation of agriculture. She is passionate about her work in politics and associations.

She has deep roots in her family's farm and has been familiar with life on a dairy farm since her childhood.

A place of balance

Today, she and her husband are equal partners in managing their 33-hectare IP-Suisse farm. They both own the farm equally. Working on the farm grounds her, bringing her balance and freeing her mind for new ideas.

This down-to-earth approach is particularly important to her, given her high-profile roles in politics.
