Garden and wine – Biodiversity in the Vineyard

Abstract

As part of the project, a model vineyard is being established in collaboration with academic partners, based on the latest findings in biodiversity. It serves as a demonstration and educational site, as well as a means of gathering practical experience. The progress of biodiversity measures in viticulture is being scientifically monitored and recorded, whilst information events held around Lake Constance are raising awareness of the issue.

In addition, the region's viticultural history is being researched scientifically. The interdisciplinary collaboration between history, archaeology, horticulture, the wine industry and research lays the foundation for sustainable, nature-friendly viticulture.
