Fact sheet: effects and risks of pesticides on the environment, biodiversity and humans

Abstract

This project aims to develop a comprehensive fact sheet on the effects and risks of pesticides on the environment, biodiversity, and human health. It is based on an extensive and up-to-date review of the scientific literature, presented in a clear, accessible, and objective manner.

Key questions addressed in the project include:

  • What are the impacts of pesticides on biodiversity and human health?
  • Are essential ecosystem services in natural and agricultural systems increasingly being compromised?
  • Do diverse and practical alternatives to the use of pesticides already exist?

The goal of the project is to contribute to the public debate with a balanced and evidence-based resource grounded in current scientific knowledge. The fact sheet will be published in three languages (German, French, and English) and made freely available to the public through the FiBL online shop.
