The 2025 Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting (ABIM) took place from 20 to 22 October at the Congress Centre Basel, Switzerland. It was hosted by FiBL and the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association IBMA. Recognised as the premier global event for the biocontrol industry, ABIM 2025 brought together leaders, innovators and stakeholders from 65 countries to discuss the latest developments and future trends in sustainable agriculture. The 20th edition attracted 170 exhibitors and about 2,050 international delegates from around the world to exchange knowledge and network.

"Biocontrol delivers crucial solutions to the transformation process towards sustainable agriculture. This is why this annual meeting for the biocontrol industry has evolved so successfully over the past 20 years and why it is so important– for the industry itself and for the whole of society", said Lucius Tamm, CEO of ABIM AG, on the occasion of the event's 20th anniversary.

The focus at this year's ABIM was on innovation and farmer experience. Farmers from three continents explained to the attendees how they use biocontrol on their farms. In addition to providing insights into the practical use of biocontrol on farms, the event featured sessions on innovation and AI, as well as a Start-Up Village. There were also workshops on formulation innovation and peptide regulation, offering a glimpse into the future of biocontrol.

Presentations, workshops and panels

A series of presentations, workshops and panel discussions addressed a wide range of topics, including regulatory challenges, market trends, and innovative biocontrol solutions.

Exhibition

The event hosted an extensive exhibition, showcasing cutting-edge products and technologies from 170 leading companies and innovative start-ups in the biocontrol industry.

Start-up Village

At ABIM 2025, the Start-up Village was introduced, offering start-ups operating in the biocontrol industry a new exhibition area. By providing this prime-location space, ABIM has supported new small companies and unlocked the sector's innovation potential. Ten new enterprises presented solutions and products designed to address current challenges in biocontrol.

Poster exhibition and session

90 posters sparked interesting discussions among participants on topics ranging from science and law to business.

Networking opportunities

Attendees connected with industry peers, explored potential partnerships, and engaged in meaningful discussions about the future of biocontrol. This was facilitated in more than 2,000 confirmed 1-to-1 meetings, dedicated networking areas and business meeting rooms.

Looking ahead

The 21st edition of ABIM will take place from 20 to 22 October 2026. Once again, this event will showcase the latest innovations in the biocontrol industry, setting the stage for the future of biocontrol and sustainable agriculture.
