Supporting and empowering crop-livestock interactions

Abstract

In a context of climate change, where agriculture must respond to significant environmental and societal challenges, the COMPLICE project aims to facilitate the establishment of crop-livestock interactions. Indeed, reconnecting livestock farming and crop production at the farm and regional levels is a major lever for improving the sustainability of farms and the attractiveness of regions. Examples include the grazing of cover-crops or between rows in orchards, and the valorisation of plant by-products in animal diet.

The operational objectives of the project are:

  1. To gather and disseminate technical and scientific knowledge and skills, as well as learnings from experience, on crop-livestock interactions.
  2. To develop key resources at the local level to foster collective action and functional partnerships.
  3. To empower and upskill advisors and facilitators to support initiatives and farmers, as well as emerging and/or aware farmer groups.

COMPLICE is a French project with national scale.
