The overall objective of this project implemented by Caritas Switzerland is to provide technical support to and improve knowledge of market actors and farmers for the cultivation and organic certification of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAP) and non-wood forest products (NWFP). The aim is to produce higher-quality products leading to better prices and improved access to markets. This is achieved by using natural resources and regulating mechanisms to replace polluting inputs.
FiBL will support the farmers and provide advice on organic agriculture as well as provide capacity development to project partners regarding organic production and develop standardised training programmes and modules with international experts for the organic sector and market development and on-farm education. The tasks handed over to FiBL will be implemented in close cooperation with the Initiative for Agricultural Development of Kosovo (IADK) and the national organic association Organika.
