Abstract

The Parliament of the federal state Burgenland (Austria) decided in October 2018 to increase organic agriculture in Burgenland as much as possible. As scientific support, FiBL will carry out a feasibility study and implementation support for the projected increase in organic shares.

The feasibility study includes

  • definition of the target situation (goals and future visions)
  • analysis of the current situation of agriculture and food system in Burgenland (including stakeholder-, environment- and SWOT-analysis)
  • review and estimation of the expected effects of an increase in organic shares for selected topics of sustainability
  • Development paths for implementation

Based on the feasibility study, implementation support (consulting, communication, support of implementation projects) takes place.
