Our next "Voice on climate" is Philipp Oggiano, whose work at FiBL focuses on life cycle assessments and modelling of sustainable agricultural and food systems. He reports on the results of a study that examined how agriculture in Zurich can be aligned with the city's net-zero climate target.

The study provides a factual basis on which politicians and society can now decide what kind of agriculture they want for the city of Zurich in the future. In his article, Philipp Oggiano reports on the complexity of the issue, on interactions, conflicting goals and why the net-zero climate target is not necessarily desirable for agriculture.
