How can animal husbandry be sustainable, animal-friendly and productive, all at once? At the IAHA Conference 2026 at FiBL in Frick, we dive into this question with inspiring examples from farms and research around the world. Participants will explore approaches already proven to work, from innovative grazing strategies to integrated production systems and welfare-friendly breeding programs.
Researchers and participants from around the globe are invited to share their work on topics such as animal welfare, biodiversity, climate impact, and practical solutions for organic farms. The conference goes beyond science, including farmers, advisors, and policymakers, and will provide space for cultural and philosophical perspectives—to enable lively, practical, and inspiring exchanges.
Podcast, video and registration
To get a first taste of the topics, FiBL produced a podcast that dives into sustainable livestock management and the challenges and opportunities facing the sector: Listen to the podcast "Organic Animal Husbandry: A Role Model for Sustainable Livestock" with FiBL staff members Rennie Eppenstein and Florian Leiber from the IAHA conference organising committee.
Watch the promotional video to meet the organisation committee and hear them talk about the importance of the event and the discussion topics.
