Even in organic farming, controversial inputs are used. For example, plant protection agents containing copper are used in potato, wine and fruit growing to combat fungal diseases. The project "Replacement of Contentious Inputs in Organic Farming Systems" (RELACS) aims to further develop alternatives to these inputs.
The new website relacs-project.eu presents the project, provides comprehensive information on the topic and will make the results of the project available.
RELACS builds on the results of previous research projects and takes far-advanced solutions forward. The project was developed by involving actors from research, farming, advisory services and industry. RELACS has 29 partners from 13 countries, and it is coordinated by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL.
RELACS is funded through Horizon 2020, the European Union's research and innovation framework programme under grant agreement 773431.
