Dissemination of reduced tillage in the organic farming sector

Abstract

The objective is to develop a stable no-till cropping system that maintains soil fertility and does not result in reduced yields due to weed competition. The focus is on developing strategies to combat rhizomatous and other problem weeds such as Slender meadow foxtail. The feasibility of direct seeding and strip-tilling are being tested in a system without using RoundUp. Mulch seeding methodology for different crops is being advanced and disseminated amongst practitioners.
