Strengthening of the BIOEAST bioeconomy research and innovation ecosystem

Abstract

The project "BIOEASTWIDE" strengthens the bioeconomy research and innovation ecosystem across Central and Eastern Europe, including the Western Balkans, Ukraine and Moldova, and supports their deeper integration into the European Research Area.

The project builds on existing networks and experience to develop a long-term, pan-European partnership connecting research, policy, industry, funding organisations and society. It maps national and regional bioeconomy R&I ecosystems, identifies key policy, technological, socio-economic and financial barriers, and develops a shared roadmap for future cooperation. Through capacity building, cross-border knowledge exchange, thematic working groups and regional hubs, BIOEASTWIDE supports stronger collaboration, better coordination of research and innovation investments and the development of sustainable bioeconomy partnerships across the BIOEAST macro-region.
