Strengthening Global Assessments of Agricultural Sustainability

Abstract

The main objective of the project is to develop a globally applicable generic approach for describing, collecting, storing and publishing high-quality, consistent data on agricultural processes. While the approach will be based on current data frameworks (e.g. such of public statistics offices), it does not aim to replace or succeed them but to complementary provide a common ground for making available the unlinked data of private actors and research to decision makers. In doing so, special attention will be put on catering for the data needs of commonly used approaches for sustainability assessment such as SDG 2.4.1, life cycle assessment, multi-criteria assessments and economic benchmarking.
