The main objective of this project is to improve the management and control of diseases on stone fruit, with a focus on plums, in Korea and Switzerland and to thereby reduce pesticide use on stone fruit in both countries in organic production. By developing optimized cultivation methods for high quality and productivity of stone fruit and by providing a better understanding of the main diseases, such as Xanthomonas and Pseudomonas or Taphrina and Monilia, under Korean and Swiss growing conditions, successful strategies for disease and pest control in organic production of stone fruit will be developed.
