Ensuring the integrity of third-country imports of organic products

Original titleSicherstellung der Integrität von Drittlandsimporten bei Öko-Produkten
Abstract

Aim of the project is the improvement of the integrity of third-country imports of organic products, imported by Germany.
During the first project step, a concept is being developed on how information and data from different sources can be linked in order to be able to identify possible risk structures, products and countries at an early stage. This concept will be tested using selected products and countries.
The design will be used together with findings from other projects for two further project steps, namely for updating a guideline for third-country imports for the in-house quality assurance of import companies and for deriving risk-oriented control strategies for competent authorities and inspectors of organic control bodies.
Finally, special training courses shall be implemented to enhance the competence of organic inspectors, competent authorities and assessors of accreditation bodies in the field of import and first reception of organic products imported from third countries.
