Adequate organic feeding of poultry according to their requirements - focus: new sources of riboflavin (vitamin B2)

Abstract

The intention of this project is the development of a procedure for the production of an organic feedstuff high in riboflavin (vitamin B2), performed by the company Agrano, a cooperating partner of FiBL. Within the scope of feeding trials the utilization of feed rich in riboflavin will be tested on breeding hens and broilers. The shelf life of the feedstuff will also be tested with storage trials.

The aim of the feeding trials are to evaluate, if the provided riboflavin product is appropriate as a supplement used within compound feed for breeding animals (indirectly also for embryos) and for broilers.
