ABIM 2026: Leading global biocontrol event returns to Basel

The Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting (ABIM) will bring the global biocontrol community together from 20 to 22 October 2026 at the Congress Center Basel, Switzerland. Organised by the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association (IBMA) and FiBL, ABIM is a annual key meeting point for industry, science, and policymakers in biocontrol. Registration on the website is required prior to attending the event.

Biocontrol is developing rapidly, with innovative solutions gaining momentum in agricultural markets worldwide. As regulatory frameworks evolve and demand for sustainable agricultural solutions grows, farmers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders are increasingly focusing on how innovation can translate into practical solutions and real-world impact.

Following its 20th anniversary celebration in 2025, ABIM returns to Basel for its 2026 edition, marking a new chapter under the leadership of Jan Scherrer, who joined ABIM AG as CEO in June.

ABIM 2026 will welcome over 180 exhibitors from more than 25 countries, including 15 start-ups presenting innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture. The exhibitors represent the breadth of the biocontrol value chain, ranging from biocontrol and biostimulant manufacturers to research organisations, regulatory consultancies and industry associations.

Three days, three essential themes

The 2026 programme will explore how scientific and technological innovation can translate into practical solutions and contribute to a wider adoption of biocontrol.

  • Day 1: Innovation in biocontrol – Exploring the latest scientific and technological developments shaping the future of biocontrol.
  • Day 2: What biocontrol innovation means for the value chain – Examining how innovation can create value and impact for farmers, industry and the wider agricultural ecosystem.
  • Day 3: Enabling policy for biocontrol scale-up – Looking at how regulatory and policy frameworks can support adoption and help biocontrol solutions reach the market at scale.

More than 2,000 international participants are expected to attend ABIM 2026. Over three days, the event will provide opportunities to connect with industry leaders, to discover emerging technologies and to exchange perspectives on the developments shaping the future of biocontrol and sustainable agriculture.
