Circular feeding strategies in organic poultry production

Abstract

The aim of the GreenChicken project is to develop a sustainable and circular feeding strategies for organic chicken husbandry with a focus on the value chains of egg and poultry. At the same time the impacts on environment and climate are to be improved.
GreenChicken examines and develops feeding strategies for laying hens and broilers considering the whole life and product cycle. Main focus will be the comparison between the most common system of laying hybrid husbandry in combination with brother cock breeding and the husbandry of dual-purpose chicken. Existing knowledge from practice and extension service will be integrated in research in order to develop practical solutions.
