How to find FiBL Germany
By S-Bahn (urban light rail)
From Hauptbahnhof (central station) / Innenstadt (city centre) take line S3 (Bad Soden), S4 (Kronberg), S5 (Bad Homburg) or S6 (Friedberg) – heading for Messe (trade fair site).
Get off at Frankfurt West station (the third stop after the central station (Hauptbahnhof).
Leave the station via the exit towards Kasseler Straße. Turn left and follow the S-Bahn route to the Ökohaus building. FiBL is on the fourth floor (east).
By car
From north or south
Take the A 5 motorway to the Frankfurt West interchange.
From the east
Leave the A3 at the Frankfurter Kreuz interchange and head for the Westkreuz interchange on the A5.
From the west
Leave the A3 at the Wiesbadener Kreuz interchange and head for the Westkreuz interchange on the A66.
From Westkreuz take the A 648 towards the trade fair site and city centre (Messe/City); at the ESSO filling station get into the right-hand lane and follow the signs first to Bockenheim, then Westbahnhof (West Station). Kasseler Straße starts immediately by West Station and runs parallel to the tracks.
As there is only limited parking in the vicinity, you should allow extra time to find a parking space – or use public transport. The car parking in front of the Ökohaus building belongs to DB (German National Railways) and a charge is payable.
By plane
From Rhine-Main airport an S-Bahn departs every 10 to 20 minutes to the central station (Hauptbahnhof) (journey time approx. 20 minutes). Continue as described for “By S-Bahn”.
Tips
- Please note: As of 1 October 2008 the city of Frankfurt has been designated a low-emission zone (Umwelt-Zone). Only cars displaying a valid green environmental badge are allowed to drive in the low-emission zone. Non-compliance may result in a €40 fine and a penalty point in the database of traffic violators in Flensburg. The low-emission zone comprises the area encircled by the ring of motorways. To the west it is delimited by the A5 motorway, to the south by the A3 and to the east and north by the A661. Further information is available at www.umwelt-plakette.de
(including English language information). - Since there are only limited parking facilities nearby, time should be allowed for finding a parking space – or better still, make the journey by public transport. In Franklinstraße (next to Hotel Radisson) is the possibility to park the car at a car park (Price: 1,50 Euro/ hour; 5 Euro / day; from there approx. 8 minutes walk to FiBL).
