Safeguarding traditional knowledge of livestock treatment with medicinal plants and natural substances

The current project aims at recording traditional knowledge still in existence on the use of medicinal plants and natural substances in the prophylaxis and therapy of livestock illnesses.

Other complementary veterinary treatments such as homoeopathy, acupuncture and further such practices are outside of the scope of this project.

The knowledge thus recorded is to be the subject of scientific publications and is envisaged to be re-integrated into veterinary practice, taking account of the current regulatory framework governing veterinary medicines.
