Soil Practitioner pilot course

Original titleBodenpraktiker*innen Pilotkurs
Abstract

The course “Soil Practitioner” enables farmers to assess soil fertility on their farms and to independently develop strategies to increase it. The course concept originated in Austria, was adopted in Germany and is now finding its way to Switzerland with this project.

On several course days spread over a year, different topics are discussed, soil tests and techniques are taught and the basics of soil fertility are communicated. An important part of the course is a project work, which the participants carry out during the year. The first pilot course is being held in the cantons of Thurgau and Zurich in cooperation with the Arenenberg and Strickhof agricultural school.
