On experimental farms of Plantahof, four fields of 1–2 hectares are divided into plots of common practice and one that is optimised in terms of soil quality. As a baseline, soil samples were characterized in 2022 with soil biological methods (microbial biomass, basal respiration). The soil samples were also archived for organic C and total N contents and stocks after the next sampling in 2027 and 2032. For the stocks, bulk density was determined to a depth of 40 cm with cylinders. The fields will also be used as a training platform for students.
