Development and technical implementation of modern seed technologies (cleaning, thermal seed treatment, priming, coating with microorganisms)

Original titleEntwicklung und technische Umsetzung von modernen Saatguttechnologien (Reinigung, thermische Saatgutbehandlungen, Priming, Coating mit Mikroorganismen)
Abstract

Seed technology innovations contribute to the improvement of the quality of organic seeds. Such innovations include, for example, the reduction of pathogen infestation by steam treatment or coating with biofectors, or overcoming the dormancy by stratification such as priming and pelleting of seeds. However, these methods must be newly developed and optimized for each crop species before they can be used as standards. The project will develop modern seed technologies (cleaning, thermal seed treatment, priming and coating with microorganisms), In addition, tests to improve seed health are being developed and implemented for various types of vegetables and special crops. The aim of the project is to strengthen the production of organic seeds and seedlings and to increase their production reliability.
