Implementation of peat-reduced substrates in ornamental growing into the practice

Original titlePraxiseinführung von torfreduzierten Substraten im Zierpflanzenbau
Abstract

Peat-reduced and peat-free growing media will be tested on 10 commercial ornamental nurseries with different bedding plants. Irrigation and nitrogen fertilization will be critical points in the experiments. During the cultivation cycles of the bedding plants, an adviser will be present several times, and the growing media will be analysed. Plant quality and production costs will be evaluated.
