Representative sustainability assessment of Bio Suisse farms on the basis of the FAO SAFA guidelines

Abstract

During the project, the sustainability performance of select Bio Suisse farms is analysed and, thus, the sustainability of Bio Suisse association is assessed on a producer level. Bio Suisse wants to use the results of this analysis to improve the advisory and training services in the field of sustainability. The results also offer a solid base for the strategic development of the organisation and serve as scientifically proven facts for PR work. FiBL leads the project in cooperation with the Sustainable Food Systems GmbH (SFS). The analysis is limited to a sample of approximately 180 farms to save resources. The sample farms will be chosen in a way to represent all Bud farms in terms of type and area.
