The EU-funded project "Data network for better European organic market information" (OrganicDataNetwork), is a collaborative project that increases transparency of European organic food market through better availability of market intelligence on the sector, considering as well the needs of policymakers and key players in organic markets. The idea is to establish a long-term permanent network of stakeholders engaged in organic market data collection and analysis. Three new Videos inform about the project and some major outcomes.

OrganicDataNetwork: Project overview and main achievements

The project "Data network for better European organic market information" (OrganicDataNetwork) aims to increase the transparency of the European organic food market through better availability of market intelligence about the sector to meet the needs of policy makers and actors involved in organic markets.

It is funded under the 7th Framework Programme of the European Union and runs from 2012 to 2014. The project involves 15 partners from 10 European countries.

OrganicDataNetwork: Multimedia presentation on Data collection experiences: case study results

Within the project, six case studies – for Germany, France, Italy, Czech Republic, UK, and the Mediterranean region – were carried out. The goal was to test and improve data collection procedures and to come to publish improved market reports in these countries/regions. This video summarizes the main achievements for each country. Project partners and stakeholders describe how the case studies contributed to overcome the current dispersion and fragmentation of data sources.

OrganicDataNetwork: 2nd stakeholder workshop in Bari - Italy

This video summarizes practical solutions identified by the participants during the 2nd workshop of the OrganicDataNetwork project, such measures to improve the quality of data and the development of model pathways for the implementation of organic market data collection procedures.

The second European Workshop on “finding practical solutions to current organic market data problems” was organised within the framework of the OrganicDataNetwork project. The workshop has been held at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (CIHEAM-IAMB) in Valenzano, Italy on 10 and 11 July 2014. This workshop is the last in a series of two workshops organised as part of an effort to bring together stakeholders in the organic market data sector from European Union, EU candidate and EFTA countries.

The workshop was organised by the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Italy, the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), Switzerland, and the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (IAMB).
