After almost a year of development work the new FiBL Shop has now gone online. The FiBL Shop offers FiBL’s publications for order or download. The aim of the relaunch was to offer a clearer structure, make it easier to find articles, and integrate the shop website into the existing www.fibl.org website. The shop website can be called up directly from the top of the FiBL.org startpage.
One of the differences to the previous shop website is that it now uses the full screen width, allowing for a clearer layout. Navigation has also been improved to give more clarity, with the subject categories always visible on the left hand side. A further new efficiency feature is the more explicit separation by country, price and currency. Only two clicks are needed to show search results in the middle section of the start page.
The registration process has been redesigned. Customers now only have to register once and can choose to have their data saved for future orders. Moreover, registration not only covers the shop but also the FiBL Registration Service for Events (registrationservice.fibl.org) which can be used to register for all the courses offered by FiBL as well as for other events. On the technical side, the shop has been fully integrated into the TYPO3 Content Management System, making work easier for the editors working behind the scene.
