The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL was founded in Switzerland over 40 years ago. Over time, new FiBLs were established in Germany and Austria. Since its foundation, FiBL has ventured into new research areas, taken on diverse advisory and teaching activities and published important books, factsheets and dossiers. This is also reflected in the number of employees, which has grown from one person in 1974 to 238 people in 2015.
