Cultivation techniques in potato production

Potato blight (pathogen: Phytophthora infestans) is one of the most significant limiting factors in organic potato production. Copper is as yet the only effective controlling agent for this disease. Alternatives must quickly be found in order to avoid the need for the continued application of copper.

  • Improved yield security and quality in potato production.
  • Replacement of copper through the use of alternative cropping strategies.
