Functional biodiversity

The opportunities for direct plant protection in organic production are limited. Therefore the provision of near-natural habitat elements for beneficial organisms is of great importance.

  • Development and testing of ecological measures for landscape design as a basis for pest regulation
    in organic farming.
  • Encouragement of beneficials through habitat management in order to increase parasitation and predation of key pest species.
  • Analysis of pest-regulating effects at plot level and landscape level in tillage production.
