  • 2000- 2001 training in editing technical journals; internships at daily press and specialist publication agencies in Berlin and Brandenburg, work as a free-lance journalist
  • 1995 - 2000 working experiences on organic farms in Australia and New Zeeland; internship at a dairy on the organic farm Bioland-Hofgut Bisdamitz (Rügen), at the certification body Biozert GmbH, at the Bioland organic farmers association in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg (Nürtingen); work as a herd on an alpine pasture in Switzerland (Graubünden); scientific assistant in a project to analyse the genetic resources of the camel at the University of Hohenheim (Stuttgart and Northern Kenia)
  • 1988- 1995 studies of international agricultural development at the Technical University and the Humboldt University of Berlin, including periods of study abroad in Australia, Columbia and Kenia; master thesis about the transformation of Napier grass into silage to overcome shortages of feed in smallholders milk production in Kenia; Master of Science in Agriculture.
