Organic aquaculture provides an alternative

Even though organic aquaculture is in practice all around the world, it is only used for a few varieties and production systems; moreover, it is but a fraction of the entire aquaculture. A transition on a large scale is sensible for reasons of environmental protection, animal welfare, and guaranteed salaries for local farmers as well as the production of high-quality food. At FiBL, the research focus in aquaculture is on feed development, ethologically sound management, and fish health.
