Animal husbandry

Current FiBL animal husbandry projects are designed to be practice-oriented projects and are realised in close cooperation with the main market participants. The aim is to ensure an efficient praxis transfer of new findings.

Based on results of the project “Market research and product development in the area of boar meat products”, a follow-up project is also scheduled that calculates experimental models concerning the conversion of organic agricultural practices to boar-fattening and that collects data about the acceptance of boar meat in typical Austrian processed products.

The final report of the project “Implementation of experiments to analyse the feeding of clover silage and dried alfalfa meal in organic pig feeding” is near completion and will produce some unexpected results.

Every year in September FiBL Austria and Freiland Verband host the FREILAND-Tagung, one of the most important and successful animal husbandry conferences in the German-speaking world.
